The Greek Chorus
The Greek Chorus I hear has one unfailing characteristic, it always tells it like it is – no sugarcoat, no denial, no romance. It has absolute integrity, it only tells the truth. Others counsel that the Chorus is fallible, has yapping doubts and inner conflicts. The hero-actor-donor listens, but must move ahead according to his or her own lights and take responsibility for the inevitable failures and joy in the successes. Actors risk suffering, when it comes to that.
The Greek Chorus (PDF) In this essay Peter Karoff describes the Greek Chorus he hears as he goes about his life and work.
A Reader Responds to the Greek Chorus (PDF) Phil Cubeta responds to Peter Karoff's essay, The Greek Chorus.
The Greek Chorus - Second Variation (PDF) In this second Greek Chorus Peter Karoff responds to the news of the day from conducting business in a foreign country, poverty and children's rights.
